What is ionic detoxification?

Ionic detoxification is a cleansing system for your entire body. The term ionic refers to the tiny particles that make up the cells in your body. Ions make up cells, cells form tissue, tissues make organs, muscles, nerves, joints, and all solid parts of the body. Essentially, ionic detoxification is a cleansing program for one of the smallest components of your body. This gives you a very deep and thorough cleanse of the whole body.

Do I need to detox?

If you are asking this question, chances are good that you do! Whether you are aware of it or not, you are constantly exposed to toxins and chemicals from the environment and your lifestyle choices. Most people are well aware that our air and water systems are polluted with all sorts of toxic substances to the human body. Not to mention all the bad stuff we add in ourselves.

Below is a list of just a few of the many questions we can ask to determine if cleansing is needed. The more statements that apply to you, the more toxic your body is and the greater need for cleansing and detoxification.

Why do I put my feet in water?

Water is the obvious medium used because up to 80% of the human body is water, as is two thirds of the planet. Water is an active substance, so when water comes into contact with something, the frequency of what it contacts is integrated into its own frequency structure and thus becomes its signature.

When you immerse a body mass into water, the frequency is instantly added to the water as a “memory”. The water actually interacts with a compound electrical current and a compatible magnetic field structure to produce the needed bio-charge.

Is Ionic Detoxification safe?

Ionic Foot Detoxification is safe and compatible with living matter. Detoxifying the body is necessary in most cases. However, it is highly recommended that you consult with a knowledgeable health care provider before beginning any detox program.

If you are pregnant or nursing, have a pacemaker or any other battery operated electrical device, an organ transplant recipient, persons with epilepsy and children under the age of 5 should not use these devices. If you have an open sore on the feet or lower legs, the wound should be completely healed before use.

What are sessions like?

Foot Spa sessions are very relaxing. It is important to us that you have a pleasant, peaceful, and stress-free session while in the office. You will sit with your feet resting in a warm tub of water. Part of the device sets in the water next to your feet for the duration of the session.

Some people experience slight tingling, warmth, vibration, and other subtle sensations that occurs during the natural balancing and cleansing action. In many cases, the water can become “dirty” and actually become deeply colored. Most people can also visibly see particles and substances floating on the water.

Why does the water change colors?

It is basic science and knowledge that different fruits and vegetables have different biochemical make-up. This is why it is important to consume many different “colors” of live food. Every color has a different biochemical value. The chemical components of the food contribute to their acid-alkaline balance. Different “colors,” or naturally occurring chemicals in the food, provide nourishment to different parts of the body.

Through the exchange of the ions from the body and water, different chemicals will accumulate in the water. As the ionic chemicals accumulate in the water, different water and substances become visible. Testing the water after foot bathes with pH paper can tell you the acidity of the substances in the water. Different acidity levels are linked to different chemicals and colors.

How long are Bio-Cleanse sessions?

Sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes.

How frequently should I do Bio-Cleanse sessions?

If you are new to ionic detoxification, the chances of you needing multiple sessions is about 99%. For best results, sessions should be done 2 to 3 times a week for 4 to 8 weeks.

Individuals who live a healthier lifestyle spend much less time in the foot bath. They are still an excellent addition to even the healthiest lifestyle. I recommend doing a few every time you do a whole body cleanse to really give you the most for your money!

How much does Ionic Detoxification cost?

OWC Member rates:

30 Minute Session = $40 each

OR = $200 for 6 sessions

60 Minute Session = $50 each

OR = $250 for 6 sessions

(It is highly recommend that you complete multiple sessions, especially if this is your first experience. A lifetime of toxins cannot be removed in one 30 minute foot bath. You WILL pull more and more toxins out with each session.)

The Atlas Vertebra

IS YOUR HEAD ON STRAIGHT?

Many years of clinical research points to the fact that most of the problem associated with spinal misalignment and its consequences can be associated with the atlas vertebra, the top cervical bone in the neck. This single bone can effect the alignment of the entire spine.

The spine is like a chain—when the first link is twisted and turned, each link down to the last turns—thereby disrupting the rest of the chain.Consider the atlas the first and therefore the most important link in that chain.

The human body is balanced when the head is positioned in the center of the feet. When the atlas is misaligned it causes the head to tilt. The spine then shifts to support the weight of the head, thereby creating biomechanical and postural stresses and strains.

When the atlas bone is properly aligned, that is in the neutral position, the rest of the spinal vertebra come into better alignment allowing the body to heal itself. The delicate and complex connections of the nervous system allow communication between the systems of the body.

.

The atlas vertebra weighs a mere two ounces and the human head weighs 9 to 17 pounds. The name ATLAS came from the comparison of the Greek mythology figure, Atlas, who carried the world on his shoulders.

The atlas is located directly under the head, connecting the head to the rest of the spine. The atlas supports the weight of the head most efficiently in the orthogonal, or neutral position.Trauma in one form or another is the primary cause of misalignment.

When the atlas vertebra is subjected to stresses and strains, it may be pushed out of proper alignment.Trauma may include the birthing process, car accidents (no matter how minor and regardless of immediate symptoms), slips and falls, blows to the head, or sports related injuries. Repetitive micro traumas, such as bad sleeping habits, poor posture, incorrect lifting and carrying can also cause misalignment.

.

Once the atlas is moved out of the neutral position the body will compensate to maintain its center of gravity. It does this by keeping the head directly over the center of the feet. To maintain this level position of the head, the rest of the spine is thrown out of alignment. The body alters its structure in such a way that the muscles contract to cause one leg to appear shorter. In most cases one leg is not actually shorter than the other, but is drawn short due to the body’s compensation for the displaced atlas.

The resulting misalignment may cause nerve pressure and inflammation causing a disruption of the normal functioning of the nervous system. This one dysfunction may play a role in a multitude of symptoms and pain in different areas of the body.

Besides directly impacting the neck, we can see other effects such as decreased curves in the neck, scoliosis, and changes in the alignment in the shoulders and pelvis. These changes in the alignment affect the structural integrity of the skeletal system AND proper function of the nervous system.

When either system is compromised, a host of other problems can occur ranging from headaches and neck pain to behavioral problems and learning difficulties or even poor digestion.

Probiotics and Antibiotics: The Good and The Bad

November 9, 2008 by DrLauren

Antibiotics are commonly prescribed to fight bacterial infections and illnesses. These prescriptions are written at an alarming rate for both adults and children for varying symptoms. In some cases, antibiotics are completely necessary. In many, they are doing more harm than good and are sacrificing the health of our society.

The immune system is the body’s natural defense. When our immunity is compromised for whatever reason, our body’s natural army is not able to ward off intruding agents. When the intruding bacteria, fungus or virus win the battle, illness and dis-ease often occur. This is when antibiotics are commonly prescribed, especially in children. However, antibiotics are ONLY effective in killing bacteria. This is why antibiotics should never be taken for a common cold or flu which is caused by a virus.

Contrary to popular belief, not all bacteria is bad. In fact, you cannot have proper health without certain kinds of good bacteria. You must have high amounts of the good bacteria for proper digestion, immunity and many other processes in your body.

Unfortunately, when people take antibiotics (and many medications) it wipes out the good bacteria with the bad, leaving your body at risk for a number of future health problems.

Think of it this way: Look at your window. Hopefully you can see some beautiful green grass. Those that have tended to a yard are well aware of what dandelions are. When they begin to flourish, you can call in Chem-lawn to wipe them out to allow the pretty grass to thrive. However, in the process, say they spray too much. Then you are left with nothing. What is usually the first thing that starts re-growing after an event like this? Weeds. Dandelions.  In this analogy, the “dandelions” are bad bacteria, the “grass” is the good bacteria, and “Chem-lawn” are the antibiotics.

This is the same concept as bacteria and your body. The bad can flourish. Antibiotics wipe out the bad AND the good. Without the good being replaced, the bad bacteria flourish again. And we get recurring infections. At times like this, it is extremely important to replenish the good bacteria known as probiotics.

The word probiotics means “for life,” and they are the beneficial or “good bacteria” that help promote health. The word antibiotics means “against life.”

So what can you do to avoid potential health problems from this bacteria war? Enhance your immunity and increase the good bacteria in your body. Both of these will allow your body to do what it was made to do, heal itself. Probiotics support the body’s natural immune function among many other things.

The good news? This means there are natural ways to fight bacterial infections. First, get adjusted regularly to ensure proper function of the nervous system which seriously gives a large boost to natural immunity (yes, it is even safe for kids!). Next, outnumber the bad bacteria with the good. How?

Large yogurt companies have made claims that their products are high in probiotics. It is true that most yogurts contain natural, good bacteria. Unfortunately, many name brand yogurts such as Activia and Yoplait are so loaded with refined sugars that by the time it enters your mouth, all the good bacteria has been destroyed. Probiotics are much more potent and complete in supplement form in most cases.

If you, or especially your child, must take antibiotics, a probiotic is highly recommended to replenish the good bacteria. The two can and should be taken together but at different times. If you or your doctor is uncomfortable with taking them at the same time, begin the probiotics immediately after the antibiotics. Different products work for different people. Be sure to speak with a knowledgeable practitioner who can recommend one that is right for you.

OWC Recommendations

If you or your child is currently on antibiotics, it important to take them at least 6 hours apart from each other. A way to keep this simple is to give the probiotic in the morning, and the antibiotic with dinner.

- Most probiotics should be taken on an empty stomach (unless they have enteric coating) to ensure full absorption and use of the friendly bacteria.  Always take probiotics away from milk and dairy products.

- It is extremely important to find a high quality, reliable supplement that contains the right strands and potency. Dosing will vary based on the individual condition and health status of your child

- The child’s age will play a role in choosing the right supplement for your kiddo. The main options are chewable tablets, powdered drink mix, or tablets that can be swallowed.

- Many probiotics need to be refrigerated to keep the good bacteria alive and more potent.  Others are “shelf-stable” and do not require refrigeration.  It is important to follow refrigerating directions to ensure full potency when taking them.

- Avoid products that are treated with antibiotics and hormones (many store bought animal products and especially milk). There are many reasons why milk is not good for you, but if you just cannot kick the habit, spend the extra buck or two and buy organic.

- Eat foods high in probiotics to get the most natural form including:

+Yogurt (plain and organic are best – look for “live and active cultures” on the label)

+Kefir

+Naturally fermented sauerkraut

AVOID

Yogurts with fruit and syrup (very high in sugar with little to no benefit)

Milk and dairy products that have been previously treated with antibiotics and hormones
