Laser Therapy
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), also known as “Cold Laser,” has revolutionized the treatment of injuries, chronic pain, neurological impairment and disease.
Increasingly popular throughout the world, Cold Laser Therapy is a painless and non-invasive method of treating damage to muscles, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue, bones, skin tissue and neurological damage. It speeds the treatment period by as much as 60 percent, therefore reducing costs to the patient.

It is a therapeutic light treatment that promotes tissue healing without destroying or damaging tissue. It is a vastly superior method to “hot lasers,” which cut and destroy tissue.
Light therapy was reportedly used by Hippocrates, the “father of medicine” who was born in 460 B.C. Cold Laser has been a common treatment method globally for more than 35 years, with no reported long-term or irreversible side effects. In fact, research shows cold laser to be more effective than traditional electrotherapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound.
Around the world, laser therapy is rapidly becoming a medical therapy that can heal wounds and fractures up to 60% faster than “hot laser” methods and therefore reduce the cost of treatment for many conditions.

Lasers are based upon a principle of physics, wavelengths. To be considered “therapeutic” they must have a wavelength between 630 and 905 nanometer (nm). The strength of the wavelength determines how deep into the tissue the laser can reach. Lower-level lasers are used for superficial skin treatment, while the higher wavelengths stimulate the deeper cells and tissue.
The laser is able to supply cells with photons and electrons which affect light sensitive chemicals called cytochromes. Cytochromes are found in every cell of your body and are located in the “energy compartments” of cells called mitochondria. Mitochondria are known as the “powerhouse” of the cells and are the primary source of energy needed to carry out important processes. When these chemicals (cytochromes) are impacted by the correct wavelength, the energy compartments (mitochondria) are stimulated and the cell is healed.
The bio-chemical reactions increase the production of ATP, the primary source of energy in the human body. Think of it as the equivalent of gasoline in an engine. When ATP is produced, the arteries widen, which increases the flow of blood and oxygen to injured areas.
Cold laser is a universal method of treating muscle, tendon, ligament, connective tissue, bone, skin tissue or neurological damage with one simple piece of equipment.

It also is the perfect complement to any physical therapy or chiropractic treatment to speed recovery.

Cold laser has been used for more than 35 years with no serious side effects. However, treatments should be applied by a fully-trained professional. Because treatments are non-invasive and painless, they are safe for children and elderly patients.
Some people experience minor tingling and warmth, but most people feel nothing.
There are thousands of published studies describing the positive effects of laser therapy, including online articles and books.

Cold laser treatment lasts between 3 to 20 minutes. Treatments are usually performed three times per week for four to five weeks. Typically, the more chronic the condition, the more treatments are needed.
The cost of cold laser therapy will vary depending on individual condition and patient. Treatments in our office start at $15.
