Legal Exemptions

There is great disinformation regarding school and vaccinations. Parents are told that unless their child gets their shots, they will not be allowed to go to school. This is simply not true.  Unless parents sign exemption forms, children must be vaccinated before they get into school.  This IS enforced by legislation.  But let’s take a step back and see who the most powerful lobbyists are in Washington – the pharmaceutical industry.  What is the true intention and focus of this billion dollar companies?

Corporate profits?  or Proven health benefits?

Many parents are opting out by signing exemption forms.

Mandated means that there are laws about something. Mandatory means you have to do something. These are two entirely different concepts. Vaccines are MANDATED, not mandatory – no matter what you may read in newspapers and magazines, or what the school nurse may say. In most states, including Indiana, your child can get into school without being vaccinated.

There are exemptions from vaccination in every state. In some states the exemption form is printed on the back side of the immunization records form. Unfortunately, they deliberately make copies of just the front side so you have to know about it to ask for it.

There are 3 types of exemptions:

1. All states have a medical exemption. If you can find a doctor who will write a note saying that your child is in danger from vaccines, that signature will be sufficient for lifetime exemption from vaccination.

2. Religious exemption is valid in many states.

3. Philosophical exemption is an option in 15 states (not Indiana). You have to sign a waiver stating that you have some unspecified philosophical objection to vaccination.

The number in Indiana Code is 20-8.1-7-9.5 section 2a for the religious exemption
